Hi there!
It’s the seventh episode of Couragemakers and I’m so happy you’re here.
This week, I’m joined by Jessica Humphreys. Jessica is a self-described feminist and sex positivist based in Melbourne, Australia. Jessica owns a digital communications agency and a social commentator who enjoys debating over copious amounts of herbal tea.
During our conversation Jessica shares her journey of entering the world of feminism and sexual politics and how she came to start her own business with several employees. We discuss how the thread of community, empowerment and education has shown up in every aspect of Jessica’s life, what it means to be a woman in the world of entrepreneurship and business ownership, and how having a Type A personality affects how you see other people and how you run your own business and
This is a great episode if you identify as a Type A and struggle to relax, if you’re a fellow passionate soul and if you’ve had any big changes in your life which have changed what you thought your life would look like and where you would be by now.
I absolutely loved talking with Jessica and I really admire her courage of conviction and the passion she has for empowering women, herself included.
Just a heads up that towards the end of the episode around the 50 minute mark, we briefly touch on male rights activists and violence against women. If you find this triggering, skip forward a couple of minutes.
Enjoy today’s show!

Hi there! And welcome to Episode 6 of Couragemakers! I’m so happy to share today’s episode with Torie Jochims.
Torie describes herself as the over-caffeinated wordsmith at the helm of Wild Spark Creative. She's also a hiker, a mountain climber, a runner, a makeup enthusiast and a lover of craft beer and good desserts. Ultimately, she is a believer in people. At heart, she’s a storyteller and I loved hearing how growing up with her grandparents influenced her ability to tell good stories and how this helped her develop as a person and confront her fears.
In this episode we really dive into the power of storytelling, dealing with perfectionism and how important it is to work on your relationship with yourself. Torie shares really openly her journey from working in the service industry, advertising and co-creating a video production company to starting her own venture Wild Spark Creative.
This is a great episode if you struggle with dealing with your inner critic, want to learn more about how to use storytelling and writing as a tool to deal with life and how to bounce back. Torie has great advice for anyone struggling with perfectionism or dealing with a toxic work situations and I know you’re going to love her.
